Domain name checker

Questions

How does the checker work?

It asks each domain registry directly using RDAP, the official replacement for WHOIS. If the registry has no record of the name, it's available to register.

What does "probably available" mean?

For some endings the checker can only look at DNS, which is usually but not always right. Confirm at a registrar.

Why does a registrar say an "available" name costs a lot?

It may be a premium name: available, but priced higher by the registry.

Are my searches saved?

No. Searches go straight from your browser to the registries.
