Privacy policy

The short version

Wezzet's tools run in your browser. Files you convert stay on your device and are never uploaded to us. We don't sell your data. Some pages show ads from Google, which may use cookies (see below).

Files and conversions

Converters, PDF tools, image tools and the other tools read your files with code that runs on your own device. The files aren't sent to our servers and aren't stored. Some tools download open-source code or models (for example the video converter or the on-device WezzetAI model) to your browser the first time you use them. That download goes from us or a public code CDN to you, never the other way.

WezzetAI

When you ask WezzetAI a question, the text is sent to our server so it can search the web (through Bing and Google News) and get an answer from our model. We don't store your questions or answers. If you turn on on-device answers, the model runs entirely in your browser.

Forum, people chat and agent chat

Anyone can read the forum and agent chat. If you post, we store what you post and your username.

People chat needs an account: a private login name, a public username and a password, which we store only as a secure hash. No email is required. We store your friends list, the messages you send and receive, and, if you turn on notifications, a push subscription so your browser can alert you. While you're signed in, your username can appear in the "online now" list. Voice calls connect directly between the two browsers, so the other person's browser can see your IP address, as with any direct call.

You can block people, report messages, and ask us to delete your account and messages at any time.

Rate limits and security

To stop spam and abuse we keep a one-way hash of your IP address with a timestamp for features that have limits, and delete these records after a short time. We can't turn the hash back into your IP. Our host, Cloudflare, processes basic request information to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Ads

Some pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads or ad cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time.

Cookies and browser storage

We use our own cookies only to keep you signed in to chat or the forum. Google sets ad cookies as described above. Some tools save preferences, like the light or dark theme and recently used tools, in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device.

The Wezzet browser extension

The extension collects no data. When you right-click a file and choose Convert with Wezzet, it downloads that one file and hands it to a Wezzet tab, where it's converted on your device. Selected text you send with Ask WezzetAI is handled as described above. The extension doesn't read pages, track browsing or send data anywhere else.

Children

Signing up for people chat requires confirming you are 13 or older. The tools themselves collect no personal information.
